Emploi specialises in pairing students with tutors who transform academic challenges into triumphs. Find your perfect educational partner with Emploi!
Education comes into your life from the very moment you’re born. When you’re an infant, you spend the first couple of years with your parents or grandparents, as the main attraction for everyone is seeing you learn how to walk. The next few steps are far more social.
Then school comes, and things start to get serious by the minute. From the beginning of primary school, you learn your first life lessons - that when a guy pulls a girl’s hair, he likes her, or that apparently whoever arrives last running to the school canteen is an ‘idiot’. Then middle school starts, and you begin subjects like geometry and algebra, get a few sciences in your curriculum - it’s fun, it’s new, and the whole class is mesmerised when they witness a physics or chemistry teacher experiment for the first time.
However, as you enter high school, things start to escalate in the next few years. Everything is done differently here. Suddenly, everyone starts treating you like a young adult. You are constantly reminded to take on responsibility for your studies as they directly affect your future after you leave school. You have to balance all your classwork and homework, squeeze in your extracurricular activities, and remember about physical exercises and socialising.
Hiring a tutor can become the perfect solution for a student or a student’s parent, not only if things start going downhill but also to improve the chances of getting into a better university. That or other further education institutions will require specific standards. If you or your child seem to be struggling, getting additional help from a professor outside the school might be the right decision.
First, you need a clear and achievable goal, focus on the subject, and give yourself a deadline (pass the A-level business exam by March). Then consider narrowing it down further, i.e., focus on marketing and finances, should you feel better about other subject aspects. This gives you an idea of what to expect from a tutor.
Once you know your goal, start looking at tutors, their experience, feedback from other students and their cost. Start contacting them to arrange a specific time and place, as many times a week as you require, to do whatever exercises you wish and ask whatever questions are most confusing to you. A unique opportunity to have someone with excellent knowledge of a subject all to yourself! With no other classmates to distract the teacher or request assistance and therefore pull him away from you, you get the maximum possible benefit out of a private lesson one-on-one and leave fully confident in your knowledge and practical skills. Also, do not worry about studying online. The pandemic has shown us that it is indeed possible. We can only advise you to eliminate all the distractions in your working environment, as home distractions (and slight cheating) can influence your success.
Having said that, we must warn you. With this process, you will not find the right fit straight away. With Emploi, however, you can create a post, and the right specialists will come to you. Fill in the job posting, determine the times, cost, and anything else and wait for the right specialists to come to you. If you are more interested in finding tutors directly, you can do that, too.
